John P. Hering, CFP®, MBA
Founder & Managing Principal
John founded Composure Wealth Management in 2019 to provide a fee-only, independent alternative to traditional Wall Street firms. His goal was to move away from product-driven sales and toward a client model that offers common-sense advice and a true partner to help manage the “stages of their life”.
Prior to founding the firm, John spent a decade at several large financial institutions. This followed 12 years in management consulting and corporate operations, where he advised senior executive teams on complex financial planning and strategy. John is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Strategy from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, DePaul University and a B.A. from the Eli Broad College of Business, Michigan State University.
John resides in Chicago, IL with his wife and two children. He is deeply involved in his community, serving as Co-Vice President of the Parent Board at Saint Ignatius College Prep. He has previously served as president and advisor for the Fathers Club at Alphonsus Academy & Center for the Arts. He has been a committed youth sports coach for many years and a supporter of Misericordia Heart of Mercy, Blessings and a Backpack, Tunnel to Towers, and Wounded Warriors.
